As the ship went out to sea,
The people lingered on the shore
Before returning to their duty.
When the sails went out of sight
Someone remarked, "She's Gone,"
There were others gathered 'round
Who felt so all alone.
The the thought occured to me
That the ship was as before,
She had merely left us here,
Heading for another shore
Others would be waiting there
The change was not in the ship as much
As the ones left standing here.
With a welcoming cheer
