RIP MJ

No matter what aspects of Michael Jackson's personal life were reported to us on the nightly news or some supermarket tabloid by the media frenzy that always followed him and his family, no one can possibly deny the massive influence that he had on music and on people all over the world. His songs created memories for us that will last our entire lives. I watch his videos and can vividly recall sitting there with my mom watching them on MTV, she had loved him long before I had ever laid eyes on him. And although I tried, I could only wish to dance like he could. It's strange, seems like so long ago yet also not that long at all. We were amazed when we saw him moonwalk across the stage and drawn to him and his songs like he had some magnetic power. So lets not talk now about accusations and accusal's but of of the impact and great talent that was and always will be Michael. What a great and awesome entertainer the world has lost. So many idolize and admire him,he will never be forgotten. To all his fans that love him he will always be an influence and a part of our lives.

Evan At The pool

We took Evan to the pool at B.C.C. this past week. We figured it would be nice to do before all the kids get out of school for the summer and then it will be so packed!
This painted beach ball on the wall was his favorite part of the day.
He absoultely loved it and kept walking over to it more than anything else there. It was so cute.

Some Hair Tips I Liked

Easy Fixes for Boring Tresses

Everyone has that moment sometimes—you roll out of bed, glance in the mirror and recoil. Have you encountered a blah hair day before you need to get out the door? Here are 10 quick fixes, some were new to me so I though I would share.

1.A Dash of Soda
In the shower, sprinkle a small amount (quarter-size drop) of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda into your palm along with your favorite shampoo, and then lather as usual. The baking soda helps to remove the residue that styling products leave behind, so your hair is cleaner and more manageable. It really does make your hair feel super-soft.

2.Style the Surface
One hair trick is to work with your bangs. “I often sleep past my alarm and wake without time to wash my hair, so I’ll just wash my bangs,” says Aarti Mehta, a publicist. “This way, no matter how messy or blah my hair looks, perfectly washed bangs make it seem like I meant to do that. Also, washed bangs and messy hair in a ponytail is always adorable.”

3.Bun and Band
"When I'm in a rush and don't have time to style my hair, I throw it in a bun and add a sleek black headband,” says Amy Reed, president and founder of ChickDowntown.com. Other times, Amy opts for “a hippie-style braided headband in loose, messy hair.”

4.Turn Up the Volume
“Here’s a quick and simple trick that always seems to do the trick: Bend your head forward, shuffle with fingers, spray or apply a fixative," says Rick Fogarty, owner of Plan B Salon in Boston. "After that, your hair will appear really big. Relax it with a scrunching motion. If all else fails, get back in the shower.”

5.Soft as a Baby's...
Baby powder works great for making the oil in your hair disappear and pumping up the volume of limp locks. Simply sprinkle it onto your palms and run your hands through your hair to absorb the oils and give your style a lift.

6.Some Like It Hot
Most blah hair days start on the second day, meaning you shampooed your hair the day before and it behaved well. Want to be back to day-one gorgeous? “Tuck your hair into a shower cap and take your shower,” advises Sandy Taylor of Style Like a Pro, a company that sells hairstyling videos. The moisture inside the cap and the heat from the shower help to reconfigure your hair and make it more malleable for styling. Follow by aiming a blow-dryer at your roots to perk those locks back up.

7.Bump It Up
Bumpits are volumizing inserts that add lift and depth to flat, limp hair. Use one to give lift to a blah hair day or to bring your look from day to night.Use it to give lift to a blah day or at the end of the day to bring your look from day to night.

8.The Grace of a Ballerina
“For a blah day, I love a messy ballerina bun with fringe, pretty dangling earrings and lip gloss,” says Arlene Castro, celebrity hairstylist of Say It With Style. If you sleep in the bun, let it loose the next morning to create excellent “just out of bed” hair.

9.Clip it up and try some distracting!
When all else fails, just clip your hair back in a pretty clip and try a lovely and distracting piece of jewelery. This way all will be intruiged by your fabolous necklace rather than preoccupied with your tasssled locks!

10.Parting Ways
Does your style suddenly look tired? Grab your comb and switch your part to the other side or right down the middle. It takes seconds and can make a world of difference.

Unemployment Sucks!!

So after I got canned last week I have decided to try and make the best out of this bad situation instead of letting it get the best of me. I was browsing the local jobs at employ florida.com and noticed two things.......
1) I suck!lol, seriously! Right out of school I decided to go and start a family early which I do not regret cause I love my kids buuuut, I just wish now that I would have went to some kind of college. Even though I didn't attend I still always, always stress the importance of college to my kids. But I mean shit, even when I was in school -I hated it! I had soo many better things to do! Or so I thought.
2)Damn, there is alot of jobs out there for medical assistants!
I found that there is a program nearby that I can train in 9 months to get started in this.
I was all psyched about it until...pop!....(that was my bubble bursting),as usual.
I began to hear from friends that I will not receive my unemployment if I enroll in school...!??
What?
I mean shouldn't the office of unemployment or whatever the hell the are,be more than supportive of me wanting to attain skills that will make me a very in demand employee?
Does anyone know about this?
If so let me know.....

Terminated

Ha, as I sat here tonight writing in my journal with my red ''Harris'' logo pen I am once again reminded of just how quickly life situations can change. And seemingly tumble totally downwards. In a matter of a mere day, all plans and ideas can (and WILL) be flipped all around. Leaving you to sit and wonder, what the heck just happened?
I didn't think that when I woke up for work this morning that it would be my last morning to take that drive and walk through the doors there. But it was. It was just another Monday morning. Although maybe a bit better than average Monday just to be anticipating the long Memorial day weekend ahead. Well it will be extra long for me it would turn out.
I am simply left now with the feeling of worry tinged with fear. I worry about being able to take care of my family. So many thoughts race through my mind. What if I don't get unemployment? What about rent,electric,etc,etc.....How will I put food on the table with no income coming into this household? Guess I will be applying for any and all aide that I think I may be eligible for.
I try so hard to stay positive but at times it can be difficult.Especially with so much responsibility on my shoulders. So many depending on ME...What ever will I do? I am scared
